EXIT               THE WALTER ALEXANDER COLLECTION              EXIT

This assembly includes all the better known pictures by Walter Alexander.  The image files have been collected from the N.R.O. (mostly within the George Freeston collections there), the Abington Street library study room, villagers' collections and those provided directly by Walter's daughter Mrs. A. Evans, some of them originally to illustrate the now out-of-print book published in 2004, "Blisworth" by T Marsh.

A picture with a title in quotes was once presented at a display or competition by the photographer.

All the pictures are Copyright to the Alexander family and have been marked "Blisworth Images" to protect them.

This tribute to Walter Alexander on this website has been well overdue - it is a pleasure to acknowledge that he was an excellent photographer and the first to record images of village and canal life here.  He also provided, in his front garden on the High Street, a glass fronted notice board entitled - "The Passing Show" - and he placed his latest pictures there for all to appreciate.  Now, this sort of thing is done with websites and 'blogs'.

There are 66 photographs here.  Another 7 are distributed elsewhere on the website, being portrait or group photographs.
