On March 28th 1955 a small party gather in a narrow boat at
Blisworth Arm yard and motored through the tunnel to mark
the 150 year anniversary of the opening of Blisworth Tunnel.

Included were members of the Railway and Canal Historic
Society and some villagers.  The second picture is taken some
300 yards from the Tunnel north portal.

The central three men nearest the camera are, left to right, Stan Battams, Charles
Hadlow (one time curator of the Canal Museum, Stoke Bruerne) and George Dickens.
